You don’t need to own your home to feel truly at home!
A rental apartment is often seen as something temporary: “It’s not really my place” or “We’ll move eventually anyway.” But I believe that’s no reason to put life on hold and spend years living in a space that doesn’t feel personal.
For this bedroom, we didn’t want to change everything. Some of the furniture was already there, and the most significant transformations came from colour, a new room layout, and a few bold details.
Nature often provides us with beautiful colour combinations all on its own. A green meadow dotted with bright red poppies was the starting point for this bedroom’s colour palette. We chose a rich olive green as the main colour, using red sparingly for small but striking accents.
We deliberately stopped the olive green short of the ceiling, leaving a wide white border at the top that visually blends into the ceiling itself. A thin black line further emphasises the boundary between the two colours. This keeps the bold green from feeling too heavy, while the black accents add a crisp, graphic touch to the room.
The apartment is still a rental, but it has become a place where the owners genuinely enjoy living — instead of waiting for the next move.
